Winterfylleth formed in England in 2006 and quickly established themselves as one of the leading forces in modern black metal, blending ferocious intensity with strong influences from traditional English folk, history, and heritage. Their debut The Ghost of Heritage earned widespread critical acclaim and launched a career defined by ambitious releases, evolving soundscapes, and international touring.

Across multiple acclaimed albums, including The Mercian Sphere, The Threnody of Triumph, the fully acoustic The Hallowing of Heirdom, and the blistering The Reckoning Dawn, the band have continually expanded their artistic scope while maintaining a distinct identity rooted in atmosphere, melody, and cultural themes.

Winterfylleth have performed worldwide at major festivals including Wacken Open Air, Hellfest, Roadburn, and Bloodstock. Their 2024 release The Imperious Horizon received extensive critical praise and widespread year-end recognition, further cementing their reputation within the global extreme metal scene.

Following nearly two decades of creative evolution, the band continues to push forward artistically, signing to Napalm Records in 2025 and releasing The Unyielding Season in 2026.
